Japanese software sales (3/26-04/01)

Credit goes to Cheesemeister (more liek Awesomemaster amritie?), link here.

Notes: While Digimon does not appear to have won the handheld fight, combined, it is on top of any other handheld game. More English Training launches with an acceptable but particularly low launch, although it is expected that it has or will make Nintendo money, and how well it does depends on how its legs are. Yoshis Island DS holds on quite well, doing much better than anyone had anticipated. The latest DS Tamagotchi launches, and assuming it continues to do well for a while, did pretty good in its first week. Namco Bandai must be happy with their DS offerings though Eif I were to estimate, their combined DS offerings add up to 141,000 combined. And people say third parties bomb on DS. Monster Hunter Freedom 2nd manages to hold onto a top ten position, and doing quite impressively as well. And did anyone expect Layton to do this well? It seems to be an easy million seller if it can stay afloat like it has done so. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker is doing better than anyone expected Ewhile Final Fantasy III barely cracked 1 million, Jokers surpassed 1.3 million and still climbing, .3 away from being the second best-selling DQM game ever. Super Robot Wars W barely holds on, at about >300k. How long will it last? And finally, we have the typical non-stop legs of New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, More Brain Age, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Common Knowledge Training, and English Training.

If anyones curious, the sudden drop-offs from the top 10, top 20, and top 30 are the result of a sudden spam of new releases, most likely for the sake of a pre-emptive Golden Week thing. Expect a ton of releases during the real Golden Week this May.
